CBC tests are used to have a baseline for overall health assessment, to monitor progress of new or existing disease and for individuals starting certain medications.
If your test is positive, you order a confirmatory test using the same order form used for the screening test.
A positive result will show which pathogen is causing your respiratory infection. If multiple pathogens are detected, you may have what’s called a co-infection.
If you have a common urinary tract infection the results will show which pathogen or pathogens is causing your infection as well as antibiotic resistance markers to inform treatment options.
